How to Turn a Bad Day in a Good Day

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Is it going just going to be ‘one of those days’?

Bad days happen to us all. Often a day that starts out bad just continues to get worse.

There are some days where you wake up in such a terrible mood – this could be when something has annoyed you, made you miserable or upset, disappointed you or suchlike. Days like this you know before you even take one step out of the front door, or sometimes even just lift your head off the pillow “this day is going to one hell of an awful day”BUT you still have to go about your day, go to work, do the school run, carry out all the household chores. Before you even start your day, you’re already miserable and fed up.

You try to get on with your day the best you can but somehow the computer breaks down, cross clients call you to complain, everything your colleagues say to you sounds unbelievably foolish, the coffee has run, it’s pouring down with rain outside, the washing machine packs up, dozens of bills land on the mat etc etc.

Everyone and everything just seems to be out to make your day worse!
Does any of this sound familiar? It’s not much fun at all is it?

Fortunately you CAN do something to turn around your bad day!

If you are reading this on “one of those days” Here are eight ways I hope can help you turn things around.

Tip 1-Smile Lots!

Smiling lots will help reduce your stress, you’ll find yourself in a better mood and you’ll be able to take more positive actions. Research has shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three powerful chemicals make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug. Test it right now: Put a big wide cheesy smile on your face and then try to think of something negative without losing the smile.

Tip 2- Talk To A Good Friend or Family Member.

Talking to someone who cares (and listens) really does help. Voicing your feelings helps you put things in perspective. Spend as little time as possible with any people who zap your energy and consciously choose to be in the company of positive people. These people will not only help to support you but assist with improving your mood. Negative people will only give you more negativity. So the best thing to do is seek out nice, happy people!

Tip 3- Be Grateful

Ask yourself what you have to be grateful for today. This works as it causes you to change your focus, it’s very difficult to focus on how bad your day is when you’re concentrating on how good things are! Try to find 10 things you’re grateful for, and you’ll achieve a whole new outlook on your day. Gratitude has heaps of benefits for dealing with stress!

Tip 4- Take a Short Meditation Break

Meditation is a fantastic tool for helping you get into a better mood. Just a five minutes of meditation can give you some much needed time out from what’s stressing you out and leaves you with a fresh outlook on life. It also helps switch off your stress responses and gets you back to normal.

Tip 5- Try to Figure out what’s wrong

Work out why you are unhappy and then actually do something about it. If your bad day is because you are stressed, relieve your mind from what you are worrying about. Often, making a list of actions you need to carry out to make things better will ease your stress. Do a bit of forward thinking and break your big tasks down into smaller action steps. If you are feeling ill, seek medical assistance if you are ill or injured. It’s also very important to get enough rest when you are experiencing a stress- or illness- linked trauma.

Tip 6-Get Some Excercise

If you can, go for a walk or a jog. A brisk walk will help to burn off any frustrations. Any sort of exercise will help you feel better. Exercise releases strong emotions from your system. Once you are able to get some exercise you might be able to get your day back something kind of resembling normal again.

Tip 7-Make the day a Challenge

One thing that will make an enormous difference is to change your view of your situation. If you are considering your situation a ‘threat’ you could force yourself to rethink it as a ‘challenge’. This gets your mind into a solution-focussed state, you’ll start to see all the things you can do to make your day better.

Tip 8- Ask yourself Positive, Empowering Questions

Anthony Robbin’s Morning Power Questions are always a great pick-me-up!
They are:

1.     What am I happy about in my life now?
2.     What am I excited about in my life now?
3.     What am I proud about in my life now?
4.     What am I grateful about in my life now?
5.     What am I enjoying in my life right now?
6.     What am I committed to in my life right now?
7.     Who do I love? Who loves me?

Lastly, don’t get stuck in the emotions that come with a bad day. If you don’t do any of the above actions at least just stop what you are doing and take several deep breaths to help you calm down and start again. It’s like rebooting your computer when it starts playing up.

I hope this posting helps you turn your day around! Please don't forget to comment

Have a good sleep can also make a good day. But my best way to keep a good mood is to read comic books and jokes. Vestebene outlet
